Mein gutes Stück ist endlich da:

AMOI T31-12 Amoi

um 1030€ von Concept.biz (Amoi-Distributor)

10,6" TFT
1024 MB Ram
P-M 753 1,2Ghz ULV
80Gb HDD
Wlan, PCMCIA, USB, MiniVGA, Firewire
27x18x2,6cm
20Wh Akku
inkl. vorinstalliertem WinXP Pro SP2

zur Installation:
Echt super konfiguriert, perfekt up2date, sogar Adobe Reader+Winrar waren drauf.

Was die größe betrifft.

Alles in allem:
I'm loving it!(c)

Great notebook! I have it already for 6 month and I absolutely love it.
The display is top. I replaced the hard disk from Fujitsu to a more silent and cool running Western Digital. It really makes difference.

I also advice undervolting of the processor (use Notebook Hardware Control) to increase the battery life. Though the processor is ultra low voltage, it is still possible to undervolt it!

I think the miniPCI Wifi card is Texas Instruments, though I am not sure. I am planning to replace it with Atheros when I'll get one.

The small keyboard size is my only complain. I was able to adapt to it,
but I can't tape without errors as fast as I would do on other keyboards.

This notebook is a perfect travel compagnion, and its great design makes it pleasure to use and to show to other people! It is one of the COOLEST notebooks on the market!

Hey, Joe, how did you get this low price?!
I think you are wrong: the chassis (Gehäuse) is from magnesium alloy, not from plastic! It helps to a better passive coolibg of the notebook. I hardly ever hear the fan!

I'm still really into this notebook although i rather have the larger battery already. Are you sure about the chassis, it does not really feal like metal although it dissipates the heat pretty well over the whole Chassis.

I'm not sure about opening it up, because I'll void my warranty, I guess.

The prize seams to be a special student offer.

I agree with you on the WiFi-Chip, although i couldn't find more recent drivers - the texas instrument homepage does not seem to offer any.

Glad that you also enjoy your Amoi T31-12!

I hope your battery will be allright. I made very good experience with amoi distributor http://concept-distribution.de and their products.

My extended battery had 5% more capacity during the first 2-3 month of use. Then it started to decay slowly. I don't use the extended battery very often, so I keep it in the fridge when not used for longer time, in order to prevent aging by selfdischarge.

Do you already have idea which external optical drive to purchase for this model? I heard that Delock slimline enclosures are allowing the functioning of the optical drive without external power source.

I am pretty sure about the magnesium alloy chassis of T31!

Let me also mention one more feature of T31 you haven't: it has a standard 2,5" notebook hard diskinside, which is not typical for
ultraportable notebooks. This allows for an easy upgrade (though you have to contact your shop and probably pay for the job of upgrading during the warranty period).

Feel free to write in German. I just hesitate to demonstrate my very poor German here but I understand it quite well.

@meepmeep:

hoff mas

@.EE:
I'm not sure about purchasing an external optical drive. Maybe i will buy myself a Bluray/HD-DVD -Hybrid Drive, when a "slim" one ist available.

Regarding the Chassis, im pretty cofident by now too, that it's not plastic.

I disagree on the easy HDD-upgrade, because you have to take the whole notebook apart => easy upgrade would be, if it was in a separate HDD-Bay.

@Hitthecow:
jo 2h15min mit CPU@600@0,7V, Display@dunkel Wlan@off
