Nachdem wir uns an, speziell für Hardcore-gamer entwickelte, Mainboards und Soundkarten gewöhnt haben soll nun auch eine Netzwerkkarte Vorteile für performancefressende Spiele bringen. Ob massig Netzwerktraffic in einem MMORPG oder einem, im Hintergrund laufenden, Torrentclient - Bigfoot Networks verspricht eine höhere Framerate, da ihre Neuentwicklung verspricht die CPU zu entlasten. Ob hier wieder 2 FPS herausgeholt werden können, werden wir hoffentlich bald an Benchmarks ablesen können.

Bigfoot Networks’ Chief Architect claims “FNapps can be anything from simple gaming chat programs or servers, to full online gaming VoIP solutions.” This could prove interesting if a game developer’s code game to take advantage of the Killer NIC’s processing capabilities for VOIP functionality.

In a world where nearly every enthusiast motherboard has onboard Gigabit Ethernet, Bigfoot Networks may have a hard time convincing gamers a PCI Ethernet card is needed for the ultimate gaming experience, especially since PCI slots are becoming scarce on newer motherboards.

The Killer NIC will be available starting on August 16th with no mention of pricing.

True, ich wart nur mehr auf die kühler die dir helfen beim gamen besser zu werden oder festplatten

muhahah sowas lächerliches... made my day

durch den 0.3 ns besseren ping wird man ja schon fast zum pro gramer, aber am besten finde ich das "MaxFPS technology frees up CPU cycles typically taken up by heavy network traffic by offloading the required processing onto the Killer NIC’s 400MHz network processor."

also wenn ich spiele, schaue ich immer dass ich meine bandbreite mit downloads/uploads zumüll... herrlich

ja, die optik tut ihr bestes um den placeboeffekt zu erhöhen

bevor man das ding verurteilt, sollte man allerdings auf die benches warten. nur die fakten zählen, oder.. war es doch die vermarktung?! :confused:

irgendwie bin ich enttäuscht
früher habens immer gesagt sie bringen eine karte raus die lag verhindert, steht da aber nirgends das sie das kann

Ich wär eher für ein Computer gestütztes Handgelenk, das dir hilft noch schneller auf köpfe zu zielen.

Damit treff ich bei jez schon 70 Fps limited sicher besser, und dann kann ich noch besser meine Torrent Pr0ns saugen, wenn ich zogg0r..
Imho nur Geldmacherei.
Aber geiles hässliches Plastikteil für ne Netzwerkkarte... :ugly:
Hatt das auch nen Sinn oder is das nur für 1337-Kidies, die dann auf ihrer Haxx0r Karte nen Lüfter ohne Funktion und Zweck drauf haben ?:lol:
