The kit is available under SKU code F3-16000CL9T-3GBPI-B, and is short for a CAS 9 PC3 16000 Low-Voltage Triple Channel kit. We will be testing the 3GB kit with 3 x 1GB modules. ...Here we have the memory setup at 2138 MHz this is actually CAS 9:9:9:24 timings at 2T, stock 1.68V voltage.

For our tests it's important to have Core i7 clock frequency and QPI the same throughout the tests. Unfortunately we did not have a divider for 2000 MHz for the G.Skill memory available in that exact configuration. There was one for 2133 MHz, and since it's running stable on that frequency as well .. we simply opted to go that step higher instead of going downwards towards 1866 MHz. Yep - that's 2133 MHz right out of the box, that is called value for money. We also ran the G.Skill kit at 1600 MHz for comparison reasons.

Everest ... write performance ... At 2133 MHz overclocked we reach nearly 17.5 GB/sec. ... The trick is that CAS9 remains stable at 2133 MHz resulting into very impressive performance.

the effect is really small as the transcoding processes remains within a 1 FPS differential which boils down to a 4-5% performance benefit.

We spotted this 3GB triple channel memory kit for 165 USD, a 6GB version would be roughly 300 USD. At this frequency and offered timings, these are very competitive prices.
