While using this hard drive I noticed a few things that were not expected. First and foremost the hard drive tends to heat up a lot. The reasoning behind it could be that because the hard drive is so quite the sound energy is probably converted into heat energy. Another thing I notice when I was benchmarking was that the average seek time came out to be 13.1 sec in comparison to the given 8.6 sec. Although the difference is not much when seen on a larger scale, it is still a point of concern. While benchmarking, all the other statistics seemed reasonably ok, so I am not going to elaborate them. Overall this hard drive is a great piece of equipment as expected. From Samsung, the SP1203N hard drive is a great balance of noise control and user satisfaction.
