mir reicht die copilot-summary Google I/O 2025 was basically a flex-off where Google said, “Look how many trillions of tokens we can juggle while whispering sweet nothings to your data.” The star of the show? Gemini, of course — now in so many versions and sizes it’s basically the AI equivalent of Pokémon. Gemini 2.5 Pro can write, code, translate, and probably do your laundry, while Gemini Nano just chills on your phone, quietly judging your typos.
Then came the hardware parade, where Google introduced the Ironwood TPU — a chip so powerful it could probably simulate the entire universe, but will mostly be used to generate cat videos and AI-generated movie trailers. And let’s not forget Veo, their new text-to-video model that turns your weirdest dreams into cinematic masterpieces. Want a cowboy riding a dinosaur through a neon jungle? Done. Because nothing says “cutting-edge tech” like AI hallucinations in 4K.
And just to make sure developers didn’t feel left out, Google reminded us that 7 million of them are now building with Gemini, which is great news if you’ve ever wanted your to-do list app to psychoanalyze you. Android 16 made a cameo, mostly to prove it’s still alive, and Project Starline got rebranded as Google Beam — now with real-time translation, so you can awkwardly miscommunicate with people in even more languages. Innovation!
