CPU Control - Prozesszuweisung bei Multicores

Hi!

Hab folgendes Tool gefunden:

CPU-Control handles the CPU-affinity for multicore-systems. Instead of running each process on both CPUs you can define it as you want it. For example, if you want to seperate the firewall and the anti-virus-software from the graphics-application.

CPU-Controls offers five different ways to control the CPU-affinity:

* Automatic: It chooses alternatingly one CPU for each new process

* Manual: You define a list, where you can set the way to handle each process

* All processes run on CPU 1, which is useful for old applications which crashes on a dual core system

* All processes run on CPU 2

* Deactivated

Funktioniert ganz gut, auch im Automatic Modus.

Fragt sich nur ob man so ein Tool verwenden soll, oder lieber dem OS die Controlle überlassen soll?
Und vor allem, ob es was bezüglich der Geschwindigkeit bringt?

das selbe kanst auch mit dem normalen windwos taskmanager regeln, afair hats schon einige artikel zu dem thema gegeben, und die sind immer zum selben ergebnis gekommen, dass es kaum vorteile bringt jder anwendung extra einen eigenen cpu zuzuweisen.

Das man es mim Taskmanager machen kann, war mir klar, nur nach jedem Neustart ist die Einstellung wieder weg.

Hab mir aber eh fast gedacht, dass es ned viel bringen wird.

Es kann theoretisch Situationen geben, wo es was bringt - nämlich dann, wenn zwei separate Prozesse eng zusammenarbeiten und ständig synchron Daten austauschen.

In der Praxis kommt so etwas nie vor.
