imho recht interessant/beeindruckend... auch wenn es meiner meinung, teilweise viel zu grobe schätzungen sind und mir z.B. eBay fehlt

hübscher Überblick
interessant wäre aber auch gewesen, welche auf welcher Programmierung basiert.

dass Wikipedia nicht drinnen ist, ist ja in oc.at schon oft geklärt worden (fast nur plain-Text --> nicht viel Speicher), aber ebay vermisse ich auch...
weiters evtl die ganzen http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov oder PubMed-sachen (sind aber wahrscheinlich viele mittelgroße DBs, die vernetzt sind)

die wikipedia datenbank ist winzig... content & bilder haben insgesamt unter 100 gb

Dann wird sich wohl das Unternehmen, in dem ich arbeite, in Kuerze auf Platz 1 befinden. Wir setzen gerade ein Projekt auf, fuer Archivierung von digital Roentgenbildern. Da diese mind. 30 Jahre lange aufgehoben werden muessen, kann man sich schon ausrechnen in welchem Petabytebereich wir uns befinden. Bei einer einfachen Rechnung, sind wir letztens auf ca. 14 PB gekommen.

Die groesste Datenbank hat Wallmart, angeblich 100 mal so gross wie CIA, warum diese nicht aufscheint? Sehr seltsame Liste...

http://www.familysearch.org/ fehlt hier auch (Ahnenforschung von den Mormonen betrieben)
