bei NT4/W2K is doch der kernel für des auto-HLT zuständig und net des ACPI
bei W2K is auf jeden fall absolut wurscht ob ACPI oder nicht - und NT4 ... is sowieso als ganzes wurscht

Jo, für den HLT Befehl braucht man kein ACPI. Den gibt's schon seit 8088er Zeiten, und ACPI erst seit kurzem.

JC, welches Tool meinst du, mit dem man ACPI abschalten kann. Ich kann's nämlich nicht im BIOS tun (ASUS CUBX-E)

ich hab des acpi im win2000 disabeld und die temp is um 13 grad gestiegen????????

ACPI benötigst dazu freilich nicht, aber ACPI macht es automatisch

das tool hab ich von Shep's Place, aber diese seite ist momentan down.

übriegns, du benutzt ja win2k, nicht?

1. Open Device Manager from Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager
2. Go to Computer tab and select the "ACPI enabled" option that you have there
3. Select Properties
4. Go to Driver tab
5. Press Update Driver...
6. "Welcome to Upgrade Device Driver" wizard opens up, press next to the first question. From the next page select "Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a specific driver"
7. Select "Show all hardware of this device class"
8. From "(Standard computers)" select "Standard PC"
9. After the new driver has been installed press reboot
10. After reboot Windows 2000 redetects all of your hardware and installs device drivers again for them.
11. After reinstalling device drivers open Device Manager once again and open Computer tab and look if you have two "Standard PC" devices there. If you do have a look at the properties of both "Standard PC" devices and
remove the one which has "driver not installed" in the Device Status screen
12. You are done and ACPI is no longer in use with Windows 2000

Jo, thx. Das weiß ich eh. Aber wenn ich ACPI vor der Installation abschalten könnte, würde er das ACPI-Zeug erst gar nicht installieren.

azo... hm, du könntest tweakbios ausprobieren, erhältlich bei Tweakfiles. Mit dem sollte es so auch funktionieren, dass es gleich abgeschaltet ist.

Ich gebe aber zu bedenken, dass das BIOS hier nicht viel mitzureden hat. Vielleicht gibts ja einen Setup-Switch für win2k?

Der offizielle Weg aus der MS Knowledge Base ist, das ACPI im BIOS vor der Installation abzuschalten. So ein Switch würde sicher in der KB drinstehen.

wenn er fragt, ob man irgendwelche third-party Drivers braucht F5 drücken und da dann Standard-PC nehmen statt ACPI

dann is ihm eh egal, ob's im BIOS aktiviert ist oder nicht

Tatsächlich. Hat sich noch nicht bis zu mir herumgesprochen.

Aber die Idee, F5 zu drücken wenn F6 dortsteht ist schon ziemlich mutig :confused:

PS. Irgendwie würde das Topic wohl eher nach "Operating Systems" gehören
