Hi!

Wenn ich auf ein Netbook Linux installieren möchte, brauche ich dazu eine externes DVD-Laufwerk oder geht das mit einem USB-Stick?

Wenn dir das BIOS deines Netbooks anbietet, von USB zu booten, ist das gar kein Problem. Meiner Erfahrung nach am einfachsten mit Fedora machbar: https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator/
Das verlinkte Programm ist cross-platform.

mit ubuntu gehts auch hervorragend, bin mir sicher das es mit jedem anderen aktuellen Linux auch laufen würde

Nein, nur Mainboards die nicht USB-bootfähig sind.

jein - man muss die meisten USB-Sticks schon in irgendeiner Form bootfähig machen!
