Sony Plans 'Ghostbusters' Cinematic Universe

Sony Pictures is expanding its Ghostbusters movies not just to the franchise level, but to the cinematic universe level.
The studio has put together Ghost Corps, a collective headed by original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman and star Dan Aykroyd, that will oversee the expansion of the movie franchise not just into a cinematic universe, but also move Ghostbusters into television and merchandising.

Chris Hemsworth Is Joining The Ghostbusters And You’ll Never Believe What Role He Took

Paul Feig’s new all-female “Ghostbuster” movie has just cast one of its first male characters--none other than Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth. Hemsworth has been cast as the receptionist for the team.If you didn't know, Annie Potts played Janine--the receptionist for the original team. Potts delivered the role so perfectly, that she not only contributed to all of the guy’s jokes, but enhanced them as well.Just like the rest of the cast, Feig has swapped the gender of the role, so it will be interesting to see Hemsworth, an action star, play off the comediennes' comedic talent.You better believe those jokes are going to be great! You can't expect anything beneath hilarious with a team that includes Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones.Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters is not set to be released until July 22, 2016, so if you want to see the funnier side of Hemsworth before then, check out “Blackhat.” He was pretty funny in that one, but if that doesn’t fill your void check out Hemsworth in his movie, “Spy” which is in theaters now.With production about to start soon, expect to hear a lot more about his role in the next coming weeks.
