Hab heute ein neues notebook bekommen...
gleich mal ubuntu dapper drake drauf...
installation hat noch einwandfrei funktioniert
dann 1. reboot:

na toll...
probier jetzt seit ca 4 stunden herum... das problem dürfte bekannt sei, doch keiner hat ne "brauchbare" funktionierende lösung parat
lustigerweise, mit der Dapper Alpha version bootet das teil... (also wenn ich die install)... mach ich dann das update, kommt natürlich wieder der selbe *******...
naja... vielleicht kann mir ja wer helfen... sonst muss ich wieder auf Ubuntu 5.10 zurück
Ich weisz, das hilft dir jetzt nicht unmittelbar bei deinem Problem weiter, aber: goenn dir doch eine Dosis Edgy Eft Knot 1.

Ich hatte Knot 1 schon gebootet (Kubuntu-Release). Mir waren dabei keine groben Schnitzer aufgefallen, auszer, was in den Known Bugs eh schon zu lesen war (betraf aber eigentlich nur den LiveCD-Betrieb).

hab mehr oder minder blöd auf den tasten herumgedroschen...
und bei strg-alt-f1/f2/f3 oder so... nach mehrmaligem drücken funkts dann *g* ...
nur de sound will noch nicht.. aber das is halb so wild.. 
kannst du das ein bissl konkretisieren? von welchem notebook reden wir überhaupt?
für mich hört sich das nach einem problem mit der graka an -> versuch mal framebuffer zu deaktivieren bzw. eine ubuntu server installation mit anschließendem apt-get install von gnome (oder was auch immer)

notebook ist ein Nexoc S609 (bitte jetzt keine, naja... da wundert mich garnixmehr *g*)
laut dem thread hats teils mit den usb geräten zu tun teils mit anderem schmarrn...
aber edgy geht jetzt ja... ausser dass ich 1 x strg+alt+f1 drücken muss
und der sound will auch noch nicht... aber das schau ich mir später mal an

was findest du da jetzt so sehr exklusiv?
und wie sind die grafiktreiber? bei den 945er chipsets gabs ja afair mal ziemliche probs - hab das leider nicht weiter verfolgt
Marvell NIC (haette auch RealTek sein koennen), TI IEE1394a-Controller (haette auch VIA sein koennen), zu Uniwill kann ich nichts sagen, der Rest Intel - jedenfalls ist keine der Komponenten Schrott; das hat bei Notebooks in der Preisklasse echt seltenheitswert
Mit dem GMA950 sollte es keine Probleme mehr geben, ich glaube sogar schon seit X.org 7.0.
