Those extra onboard peripherals, coupled with Gigabyte's novel approach to eSATA support, are really what set the DQ6 apart from the rest of the field. Throw in a gorgeous passive heatpipe cooler effective enough to handle front-side bus speeds up to 480MHz and solid-state capacitors that should increase the useful life of the board, and you have quite a compelling package.

That's not to say that the DQ6 is perfect, mind you. Gigabyte would do well to provide more extensive fan speed controls in its BIOS, and they should have made more USB options available in the port cluster, along with a digital S/PDIF input. But those are minor gripes at best.

At the end of the day, high-end boards aren't going to offer the same value proposition as mid-range products. But even with a price tag that stretches north of $300, the N680SLI-DQ6 doesn't feel like a rip-off. Sure it's expensive, and it's not any faster than a decent mid-range board. But if you take into account all the extras, the attention to detail, and the phenomenal overclocking potential, the DQ6 is exactly what a high-end motherboard should be.

Die externen SATA / eSATA auf der Zusatzsteckkarte find ich sehr gut. Hab auf meinem PCI SATA Controller zwar auch einen SATA Anschluss nur ohne Strom ausm Case raus bringt der recht wenig, ausser man hat a eSATA Externe.

Die vielen SATA Anschlüsse finde ich persönlich zwar sehr gut, aber hab ich was falsch verstanden oder sind 3 Controller verbaut?

Ich find aber dass die BoardHersteller mit fast 300€ weit über die Grenze des guten gestoßen sind. Also mir wär das Board zu teuer. Mit 1,2 billigen Zusatzkarten hast auch die "Features" vom Board herinnen. Ist halt wers braucht oder halt angeben will

Das Board wär durchaus eine Überlegung wert, aber was sich Gigabyte beim Backpanel gedacht hat würd mich schon interessieren.
4 RJ-45 Ports, ein Serial-Port, den die Zielgruppe dieses Boards mit Sicherheit nicht brauchen wird, kein S/PDIF und verdammt wenige USB-Ports, wenn man nicht grade per Slotblenden nachrüsten will.

ThX. Hab mir den Artikel nicht durchgelesen, da s mich grad nicht zaht hat. Will mir kein neues Board anschaffen. Wollt nur mal drüberschaun.

Also 3 SATA controller hatte ich noch nie auf einem Board. Ist irgendwie a bissal hirnrissig wennst mich fragst. Gibt genug 4 Port Controller. Verbraucht doch nur Platz und bringt keine Features, oder doch?

Ja irgendwie passt das ganze nicht ganz zum Konzept des Aushängeschildes. Ist irgendwie "unausgewogen".
