Lieb von dir whitegray, aber zur Zeit würde ich, wie der h4p3, jedem von Pool of Radiance abraten.
Nicht weil das Spiel selbst so schlecht ist, dazu kann ich noch nichts sagen, sondern eher wegen seines absoluten Betastadiums.
1) Man kann es nur auf C:\ installieren, besonders witzig, wenn C:\ FAT16 ist und dadurch maximal 2 GB groß.
2) Beim Uninstallen deinstalliert das Spiel den Windows Uninstaller gleich mit. Sehr hilfreich. Somit wird wenigstens sichergestellt, dass man das Spiel, sollte man nochmal so dumm sein und es installieren, kein zweites Mal deinstalliert.
3) Es gibt Probleme mit der Geforce 256.
4) Es gibt Probleme mit den save games...
usw. usw.
Für bug 1+2 gibts jetzt schon einen Patch *WOW*, die anderen major bugs werden in weiteren patches addressed.

Ich würde euch raten, den Spielgenuß????; wahrscheinlich is das Spiel selbst dann noch dazu der absolute Schrott; noch ein paar Wochen hinauszuschieben, bis sie mal die größten Fehler ausgemerzt haben. In der Zwischenzeit könnt ihr ja nochmal BG2 + addon durchspielen. Wer dies bis jetzt noch nicht getan hat, sollte dies wirklich sobald wie möglich nachholen!!!
Mit Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor hat die ungute Vorgehensweise zahlreicher Spieleentwickler, ihre Produkte in einem absolut unfertigen Zustand auf den Markt zu bringen, einen neuen Höhepunkt erreicht.
So beta wie dieses Spiel bei seiner Markteinführung, war noch keines davor. Nicht mal Ultima IX und das war ja schon extra beta.

Avault.com und auch einige Leute vom POR2 Message Board warnen vor Pool of Radiance 2. Die Uninstall-Routine des Programms löscht wichtige Windows-Dateien und macht das Betriebssystem unbrauchbar. Hier die Original-Meldungen von Avault.com und einem User:

It's not often when the Adrenaline Vault feels the need to put out a warning, but a newly discovered "bug" in Ubi Soft's just released Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor compels us to act.
We have uncovered a probable bug in the installation program for PoR that could wipe out a user's Windows 9x system files during the uninstallation process.
During our installation of PoR, the install program locked up the computer, forcing a reboot. After this, the PoR installation program would only give the option to uninstall the game; at this time, the program also wiped out our Win98 SE system files and would not reinstall the game.
A further bug was uncovered in the installation program that prevents the user from installing to any directory other than the default.
Update: Ubi Soft has been made aware of this problem and of others users are reporting; and that their QA team is looking into it. The company has stated to us that they will stand by Pool of Radiance 100% and patch the game as much as necessary to meet consumers' expectations. Ubi Soft also expressed regret at the problems users have been having.

I saw someone people posting the AVault notice (which I failed to read before installing the game) and wondering if it was true.
Bottom Line: Hell, yes!!!!!!!!!!!!
During installation, PoR locked up, blue screen of death. (Fatal Exception Error) A hard reboot was required.
After the hard reboot, I tried to install it, but was forced to uninstall first. Ok, no problem. Well, when I tried to restart the computer after the uninstall, it crashed to DOS prompt stating that it could not find:
himem.sys, dblbuff.sys, ifshlp.sys and WIN.COM
So I have spent the last few hours reinstalling Win98 OS because the damn game ate my OS!!

bei mir sagt er bei der installation das zuwenig speicherplatz zur verfügung steht obwohl ~30 gigs frei sind!
so ein schmarrn ich hoffe das rennt irgendwann!

Scheint ein tolles game zusein .. endlich geht ein spiel nach dem ende weiter ... erst wenn man es geschaft hat das game zu löschen hat man gewonnen ...
irgendwo hab ich gelesen das dieses game derzeit die längste buglist ever hat
und ich trottel saug grad die 2te cd ..... aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

hab deswegen win98 aufgesetzt und jetzt funkts
@hp ch installier alles auf die c platten da die die schnellste is, und es waren 30gigs frei wie ich schon sagte!
Faktuum ist por2 ist nicht win2k fähig
