At around 8 this morning (local time) a fire started in the
computing facilities of Twente University. This affects Debian, since
on of our servers (satie) is hosted there. At this moment it seems
very likely that the machine can not be recovered from the fire.
The following services are currently down as a result of this:
security.debian.org
non-us.debian.org
nm.debian.org
qa.debian.org
We are working to restoring these services on another machine and
hope to have things in mostly working order by tomorrow. Security
advisories are still available at http://www.debian.org/security/

Dear APMs,
A big fire destroyed the entire computing facilities of University
Twente in Enschede this morning. All of SURFnet's equipment and the
entire heart of University Twente's network were destoyed.
Because of this the following institutions will not be reachable for
some time:

* Instituut voor Leerplanontwikkeling (SLO) (192.87.212.0/22)

* Telematica Instituut (195.169.16.0/23)
* Open University Deventer (145.20.114.0/24,
145.20.77.0/24,
145.20.95.0/24)
* Open University Enschede (145.20.112.0/24,
145.20.75.0/24,
145.20.93.0/24)
We've had some questions about the unreachability of these networks
already. Could you please forward this e-mail to your NOC/Helpdesk so
that they are informed as well.
Our friends at the UTwente and SURFnet are working hard to get basic
connectivity restored as soon as possible.
