probs beim booten von w2k mit lilo

Hi!
Kleine Einführung vorweg:
2 Platten (80gb + 120gb): auf der 80er ist Debian mit Lilo drauf und auf er 120er W2k.

Hab die 80er Platte als Primary Master angesteckt und die 120er als primary Slave -> von der Denkweise imho richtig, dass er zuerst zum Lilo kommt und man dann die Auswahl hat, welches OS man booten will.
Nun ja - Debian booten geht ohne Probleme, nur wenn i nun Win2k booten will (/dev/hdb), dann zeigt er nur "Loading Win2k (/dev/hdb)" an und macht nichts mehr.

Die Einträge in der lilo.conf scheinen zu stimmen (kopieren und herzeigen geht leider net ).

Jemand meinte, dass ich Lilo mal auf die 120gb Platte installieren soll und diese als Primary anhängen - nur weiss i no net so ganz, wie des geht .

Wär toll, wenn mir jemand bei dieser Sache helfen könnte.

kleiner tip zum copy&paste zwischen zwei betriebssystemen:

zettel nehmen, stift nehmen, abschreiben, und wieder reinschreiben.

alternative: "lpr /etc/lilo.conf" wenn du einen parallelen drucker angeschlossen und eingeschaltet hast.

alternative "mail protected < /etc/lilo.conf"

ohne die lilo.conf hats helfen wenig sinn. musst hauptsächlich nur den unteren teil rausschreiben mit den einträgen wie:

Und wieso hast du's nicht gelassen?

/dev/hdb1 (oder wo auch immer die Boot-Partition vom Windows ist) sollte eigentlich schon funktionieren. Vielleicht musst du noch im Bootsektor von der W2K Bootpartition die Drive Number von 80h auf 81h ändern.

weils am anfang mit hdb1 a net funkitioniert hat - habs jetzt eben wieder getestet - geht net.

Brauchst irgendeinen Bootblock-Editor. Norton Diskedit z.B. oder DiskProbe von den Win 2000 Support-Tools (kann man da saugen, wo man auch das Service Pack saugt)

EDIT: Einfacher wär's aber, auf der ersten Platte eine bootfähige FAT-Partition (NTFS müsst auch gehen) anzulegen und dann W2K neu zu installieren (auf eine andere Partition als die wo's jetzt schon ist). Wenn das fertig ist, kannst du ins neue boot.ini das vorige Windows reinschreiben. Und ntdetect.com und ntldr würd ich mir auch von der anderen Platte drüberkopieren, weil die schon ge-Service-Packed sind.

ok, habs wieder auf hdb1 gwechselt, aber trotzdem keine veränderung .....

/hda => debian master platte
/hdb => w2k slave platte

startest du nach dem editieren der /etc/lilo.conf auch lilo (lilo eingeben und enter drücken)? stell mal die bootreihenfolge im bios um, guck ob w2k überhaupt noch bootet. die einträge sollten schon passen, ich hab so 11 betriebssysteme in einer kiste laufen mit lilo.

wenn es eh nur um 2 OS geht würd ich das eine auf Platte A und das andere auf Platte B geben und nach bedarf im Bios das Boot-device umstellen...
