War logisch, dass das nicht mit einer LTS eingeführt werden konnte. Ich frag mich ob sie es ernsthaft in Erwägung gezogen haben, denn sonst hätten sie das gleich mit der XMir-Absage für 13.10 klar machen können.

Dafür spielen sie mit dem Gedanken, einen 3.13/14 "Frankenkernel" zusammen zu schustern, was für mich jetzt auch nicht unbedingt LTS-worthy klingt...

Außer, du verwendest brandneue Hardware - dann ist ein aktueller Kernel dein Freund. Ich verstehe nicht, weshalb sie so ein Drama darum machen mit welcher Kernel-Version sie in die LTS starten. Wenn sie bei 14.10 Release keinen 3.14.0 verwenden wollen, wieso nicht einfach ein paar Wochen warten und auf ein 3.14.5 Major Update wechseln, dann haben sie auch ihren Broadwell Support und führen keine eigenen Regressions durch den 13/14 Zwitter ein... Upstream kann dann Ubuntu-Bugs gleich auf AUTO-INVALID setzen...
