EPoX has put together a very solid motherboard in their 5EGA+. Of course we were waiting to see the super-OCing motherboard of EPoX past, but that did not happen. We have had more than a few Prescott/915/925 motherboards on our bench this year that would never pass our initial stress tests. When we cannot get them to perform stable at a stock speed of 3.6GHz, we throw them back into queue and move on to another board while we wait for answers hopefully. The EPoX 5EGA+ performed very well through our torture tests and never once showed any signs of instability. The EPoX 5EGA+ also did very well in the scoring although it trailed a bit I our gaming benchmarks, but not by a margin that you would likely ever notice in real-world gameplay.

Sadly, if you are an enthusiast, this motherboard seems to be one that has an ability to possibly end up being a disappointment. EPoX PR pointed out that others had not had our problems, but the fact is that our board would not OC and they never showed us a motherboard that would, so we are left with limited experience to report on. When it comes to the world of 915/925 motherboards, there are other motherboards currently on the market that are simply going be more attractive to me.

Overclocking on the EPoX 5EGA+ was simply nonexistent. This motherboard was a terrible overclocker. Getting a Front Side Bus above 210MHz was like pulling teeth. Both Keith and I had the exact same experience using different hardware in two different labs with the motherboard.

omg das ist wirklich wenig, bleibt zu hoffen, das sich das oc verhalten der bretter ändert.
