BIOS is signed by Award in both cases. Beside the standard options, the overclocking ones are something to be pointed out. As usual for Gigabyte, OC options are accessible by pressing the CTRL+F1 key combination in the BIOS itself, and the options are marked as “MB Intelligent Tweaker” (M.I.T.). The FSB on both motherboards can be set all the way up to the incredible 700 MHz! The options themselves within the M.I.T. are identical on both motherboards (as are in the rest of the BIOS).

However, DQ6 has a broader range of voltages that can be set for individual components compared to that of the DS3. For example, a processor can have a maximum voltage of 2.275V on the DQ6, while the DS3 can offer no more than 2V. Of course, this only has importance to competitive overclockers. RAM voltage can be boosted up to 2.575V and 2.5V, respectively. Chipset voltages can be tweaked to an impressive +0.375V and +0.3V compared to nominal values.

The story of overclocking the motherboards ended with the value of only 325 MHz, and the value was identical on both motherboards! The newborn is always followed with certain illnesses, but we're sure that a new version of BIOS will improve the situation and thus give this chipset “wings”.

wenn man dem tenor auf xs.org glauben schenkt, geht das vorgängermodell (ga-965p dq6) auch nicht unbedingt hoch.
->460 mhz fsb sollen da schon ein grund zur freude sein, seltene boards sollen bis zu 490 mhz packen und dem besitzer anlass zum ringelreiatanzen geben.
bei meinem war mit dem e6400 übrigens exakt bei 460 mhz schluss.
