es gibt whiskys in gschäften wo steht: Scotch Whiskey! und wenn das steht is es kein echter scotch, sondern von irgendwo! wenn aber steht scotch whisky dann ists echt! von scotland!

... nach bissl rumgeklicke komme ich zu folgendem ergebnis:

WhiskEy dürft die irische schreibweise für das dort gebraute Destillat sein -- auf allen irischen pages steht's so, wird also auch passn.

WhiskY - oder auch Scotch Whisky lässt sich wie der Name schon erahnen lässt Schottland zuordnen.

bei die Amis gibt's vermutlich beide schreibweisen - weil genug Einwanderer sowohl aus Schottland als auch Irland dort drüben hausen ...

Das mit den "Whiskeys" aus Schottland ist leider auch falsch - egal wo du sie trinkst.

Auch den Scotch schrieb man früher (vor ca. 100 J. oder so) mit "e", zur besseren Unterscheidung vom Irish Whiskey wurde das aber geändert. Amerikanischer Whiskey hingegen schreibt sich generell (Ausnahmen kann's natürlich immer geben) wie der irische mit "e".

Ist aber sowieso ziemlich OT - v.a. da das Bild (noch) nicht mal etwas mit Whisk(e)y zu tun hat... :rolleyes:
