Heute stellt AMD mit dem Phenom II X6 die Antwort auf Intels Hexa-Core Gulftown vor. Konkret präsentiert AMD die Modelle 1090T und 1055T. Passend dazu lässt der Chiphersteller auch die neue Chipsatz-Serie 8 vom Stapel, die sich nicht wesentlich vom Vorgänger unterscheidet.

Schade, dass es den 880G nicht mit aktueller SB gibt. Auf die paar MHz mehr GPU-Takt koennte ich durchaus verzichten, und den ganzen "Enthusiast"-Ramsch (Crossfire, etc.) brauche ich auch nicht.

Naja. EIgentlich ist mein Q6600 eh auch noch lange gut genug

auch fürn 880G wird die SB850 empfohlen, AMD erlaubt aber auch die SB710.
Ob eine SB810 jemals kommen wird oder nur Wunschdenken ist, is aber noch offen.

Rein leistungstechnisch ist ein Q6600 noch sehr gut im rennen, vorallem wennst ihn etwas taktest.

Erst ein AMD Phenom II X4 965 würde die gespürte ca. 30% mehr performance bringen und ich glaub da können wir noch alle getrost 1-2 Chipsatz und CPU Generationen warten.

der "computerbase" link landet auch bei hardtecs4u.

4 cores können leider schon wenig spiele nutzen, bei 6 wirds noch schlimmer, und rendern und so tu ich kaum. so werd auch ich mal beim q6600 bleiben.

Da bei mir bald ein PC Update ansteht, werd ich mir wohl den Hexa-Core holen.

Im großen und ganzen aber das was schon zu erwarten war, @ stock sind die X6 ~ auf gleicher höhe mit gleich geclockten i7s (8xx 9xx) in multithreaded apps. In weniger singel oder threaded apps die nur wenige cores nutzen, tortz turbo haben sie aber dennoch das nachsehen.

Madshrimps hat sich mit dem Skalieren der Thuban-Cores in puncto Abwärme vs Spannung beschäftigt. Und Corsair zeigt DDR3 bei 2,287 MHz mit einem Thuban! Außerdem wird der Phenom II X4 960T bis auf weiteres eingestampft bzw auf den OEM-Markt beschränkt.
