Der Barton braucht nicht weniger Vcore, sondern auch 1,65V und die haben sogar den 3000+ im real clock gesenkt. Von 2250 MHz auf 2166 MHZ, d.h. die haben immernoch Probleme bei der Ausbeute schnellerer Cores.

I've posted up my AMD Q4 2002 earnings conference call notes. We have learned the following from the conference call. Barton has been confirmed for February up to equivalent MHz ratings. A faster rating of presumably 3000+ will come out before the end of February. This is consistant with what we reported below.

AMD also says that Opteron will launch in April. They plan on volume Opteron shipments in Q2. A date for the Athlon 64 launch was not nailed down. They do not expect significant revenues from Hammer until the 2nd half of 2003.

90nm Hammers should be expected in Q4, and will have a 64 mm square die that will allow Dresden CPU production to increase from 50 million CPUs to 75 million CPUS. AMD anticipates that a yearly production capacity of 75 million will be much more than is needed to meet demand.

Flash is 30% of revenues and is expected to be flat to up for Q1. Fab 25 in Austin is currently being converted to 130nm to increase capacity for continued increased demand for flash in 2003.

AMD also expects higher CPU revenues even if volumes are flat. They also experienced the highest mix of laptop/desktop CPUs, and have just shipped CPUs meant for the thin and light segment.

The deal with IBM means AMD doesn't need to build a 300mm fab, but it doesn't mean that the UMC deal is dead. AMD still wishes to eventually build a 300mm fab, and a location in the US is not out of the question. The IBM partnership will yield new 65 nm technology.

AMD's breakeven point remains at just below $800 million, and an additional 1,600 jobs will be cut this year to help achieve that goal. AMD still expects break even in Q2 of this year
