The 780G chipset AMD launched earlier this month also improves the Phenom's value proposition, particularly if the chipset's integrated graphics (or integrated graphics + $50-$70 discrete card) are sufficient to meet your needs. If you're looking for a quad-core system on a budget, AMD has the Phenom X4 9550 (2.2GHz) available for $195.

Unfortunately for AMD, the situation isn't all sunshine and puppies. While the Phenom 9850 is a marked improvement over previous Phenom processors, the new processor is still unable to match or surpass the Kentsfield-based Q6600 at 2.4GHz. The consistent 6-8 percent gap we saw between the two cores also suggests that another 100MHz alone won't do the trick; Phenom would need at least another 200MHz jump (an eight percent clock increase) to overtake the Q6600. At this point, it's not even clear how aggressively AMD will ramp Phenom going forward; if the company is planning any 2.8GHz-3GHz parts for the second quarter it's keeping that information very close to its chest.

Wäre schon interessant zu wissen, wie hoch man den 9850er mit guter Kühlung kriegt. Leider sind die 125 Watt TDP nicht sehr overclocker freundlich, sprich mit aircooling wird da nicht viel gehen. Aber so einen Prozessor unter eine Kompressorkühlung zu schnallen hätte schon seinen Reiz.

Freie Multiplikatoren wird's zu solchen Preisen jedenfalls nicht mehr lange geben, wage ich zu prophezeihen.

Ich hoffe für AMD, dass sie den Fertigungsprozess noch optimieren, in Richtung 3 Ghz und den Energieverbrauch etwas drosseln, oder zumindest in diesem Rahmen halten können.

naja der qx9650 hat sogar ne höhere TDP und clocken kannst den auch problemlos unter air.
sehen aber ganz gut aus die B3 CPUs und vorallem in dem preissegment noch konkurrenzlos. wer das maximum aus einem system rausholen will hat aber bei AMD momentan noch immer nix verloren. für durchschnittssysteme die nicht übertaktet werden eine gute/günstige alternative zu intel quads.

macht sich ja gar nicht sooo schlecht der 9850iger. das einzige was mich etwas geschockt hat war sein energie hunger mit über 260w oO.

der 9850er ist noch immer langsamer als ein stock q6600 also von daher nicht wirklich eine steigerung.

Diverse webseite sind mit air so auf 2.8-2.9 stabel gekommen.

viel zu teuer, viel zuwenig leistung, braucht viel zu viel watt.

mal schauen vielleicht kaufe ich mir, in 2 bis 3 wochen, "nur aus spaß" einen zum testen.

3ghz in 65nm wird nicht kommen, das wird dann schon ein fall für die neuen in 45nm.

gute idee das dfi board habe ich bereits seit mehr als 2 wochen ,aber mehr als eingebaut und einmal hochgefahren wr leider noch nicht drinn :mad:

gekauft um 195 euro bei raisl (extra bestell!innerhalb von 2tagen,bei den anderen hätte es länger gedauert)
