Tja, ID hat laut einer Pressemitteilung von ATI sowieo mit denen einen Deal.

Zitat
"ATI's next generation hardware has an ideal feature set for the DOOM III™ engine, and at the moment is the fastest platform to run the game on," said John Carmack, Chief Technical Officer & co-founder of Id Software, Inc.

"We want users to be blown away by their gaming experience," said Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President, Marketing and General Manager, Desktop, ATI Technologies Inc. "Our next-generation product will move gamers a quantum leap forward in realistic and immersive gaming. Gamer's won't just play DOOM III™ with ATI's next generation hardware - they'll live it."

Ryan, a fellow Longhorn, sent me an email bragging about how he was lucky enough to catch the Doom III presentation at E3. I thought you might want to hear it forst-hand from another gamer.

Zitat
My eyes and mouth were wide open the whole time, and for about 10 minutes after I left the theatre I wondered around E3 completely oblivious as to where I was or what I was doing. It's worth noting that the demo took about 5 minutes just to load and that the frame rate did get choppy. Assuming this is running on a GF4 4600, I'd say it's time to start saving for nVidia's next generation technology with 64-bit color.

Doom3 is all about the lighting. It's absolutely amazing. And the physics are so well done you'd think you were watching a real-life movie, not real-time CG. When the hero dies and you see his hand limpy release his pistol... and then the monster... I shiver remembering it.
