The Thermalright V1 was a CPU heatsink with a ton of potential, but it was plagued with some problems typical of any new and untried product. The V1 Ultra has gone a long ways toward exorcising these demons, and Thermalright should be commended for their solution. The V1 Ultra performs better than any other air-based GPU cooler we've seen yet, and with the improved performance and compatibility, we're glad to give the V1 Ultra an award we just couldn't quite justify awarding to the original V1 - the Systemcooling Seal of Excellence.
