... it gave the green light to the engineers that are trying to make the board to break every speed record set by Nvidia's G70 and ATi's R520...

....The "Faster G70", which is how the G71 is being called internally now, targets almost insane clock speeds. We have learned that several boards achieved a clock speed of 800MHz, which just goes to prove that tweaks being done in 110nm G71 core will make R520 tremble, and force ATI to respond with its 32-pipe R580 as soon as possible. ....

So, to sum what we know about G71, possibly dubbed the 7800 Ultra:

- 110nm process, modestly revised GPU
- unexpected clockspeed (up till' this story, of course)
- dual-slot aluminium cooling with at least four heatpipes
- ultra-silent, large-fin large-diameter fan
- 512 MB of GDDR-3 memory, provided by Samsung. Capacity of the chips: unknown

It seems like the so called 7800 Ultra card that takes up dual slot with 4 heat pipes cooler design has been exposed. I think we have seen this card somewhere before so most probably this photo is legitimate. There are a few super-samples of G70 lying around that are clocked as high as 800MHz but it is unlikely that the normal 7800 Ultra cards will be clocked that high.

Hmm. Wird wahrscheinlich einfach ne leisere Karte mit 550->600 MHZ Core Takt sein.

Vorteil:
Leiser, mehr OC-Potenzial wahrscheinlich

Nachteil:
Dual-Slot Kühlung nervt teilweise ein wenig
Wird wieder extrem kosten

das glaub ich nicht mit stock kühler gehen die meisten scho 500 mitn delta dann 540 dh es klingt scho realistisch.... wenns heisst sehr sehr wenige und mit der kühllösung und maybe 0,1V mehr...

Aber trotzdem.
800 MHZ rein nur mit AIR wäre schon extrem.
Das finde ich schon etwas zu hoch spekuliert

.
Mit 0,1V mehr und Top Luftkühlung (die ja verbaut werden wird), wirds vielleicht so auf 600 MHZ raufgehen

.

Trotzdem wirds interessant werden.
Wenn die die Ultra version auch bald rausbringen, wirds schwer für ATI werden

Weil dann wäre ATI noch weiter hinten mit der neuen Generation als jetzt schon

(Jetzt nit nur im Bezug auf die Leistung, sondern auch im Bezug auf die Verfügbarkeit und die ersten Verkaufszahlen

).

Die Ultra is die 90nm Version der GTX...das erklärt den "möglichen" takt von 800mhz. Da bei TSMC der 90nm prozess noch "unrentabel" is wird nvidia die Ultra erst rausbringen wenn das rentabel is...also kein stress

btw. solange nur so halbwegs 1400mhz beim speicher drin sind bringt 800mhz core bei 24 oder gar 32 pipes eh eher wenig.

Na dann wär der Takt vielleicht schon möglich.
Jedoch obs der Takt beim jetzigen Ram und nur 24 Pipes bringt, ist eben die Frage
