mount ntfs unter ubuntu?

hoi, kann mir jemand sagen, wie ich meine normalen winxp hdds bei ubuntu anschauen kann?

hab nur tutorials für redhat gefunden, die gingen aber in der ubuntu konsole nicht

i schließ mich da mal an, bin grad ned auf meinem slacki, aber nur so aus interesse:

@dio: funkt der command auch unter slackware?

bzw gibts da progs die einem da helfen? in welche datei schreib ich die commands um sie automatisch zu mounten?

Ja, "mount" ist ein UNICES übergreifender Quasi-Standard. Unter anderem auch seine Syntax

gibts eigentlich mittlerweile erfahrungsberichte bzw erlebte horrorszenarien bzgl write access auf ntfs, im speziellen mit captive?
oder kann man dem eh im großen und ganzen vertrauen?

Captive nutzt ntfs.sys (oder wie auch immer der FS-Treiber in Windows heiszt), und kann deshlab genauso gut/schlecht mit NTFS umgehen, wie Windows selbst. Langsamer ist es allerdings.

und wie schauts bei den anderen linux-treibern aus? noch sehr experimental oder für simple write aufgaben bereits akzeptabel?

nicht wirklich... soweit ich weiß darf sich die dateigröße nicht ändern... also wenn schreiben auf ntfs unter linux, dann mit captive...

alternativ kannst ja ext2/3 verwenden und dann unter windows zugreifen, oder du nimmst halt fat32.

(ja ich weiß, irgendwie is nix besser wie ein blöder kompromiss)

ich konnte meine windows platten erst mit dme command: mount /dev/hda1 /media/windows -t ntfs -o umask=0222 mounten.
aber ich habs mir dann anders ueberlegt und hab gleich meine storage hdds mit ext3 formatiert

Linux-NTFS comes with a number of user-space programs known as ntfsprogs.
These include mkntfs, a full-featured ntfs filesystem format utility,
ntfsundelete used for recovering files that were unintentionally deleted
from an NTFS volume and ntfsresize which is used to resize an NTFS partition.

To mount an NTFS 1.2/3.x (Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003) volume, use the file
system type 'ntfs'.  The driver currently supports read-only mode (with no
fault-tolerance, encryption or journalling) [color=red]and very limited, but safe, write

For fault tolerance and raid support (i.e. volume and stripe sets), you can
use the kernel's Software RAID / MD driver.  See section "Using Software RAID
